I set up the server correctly and checked on safari the command to play a song but the app didnt find the server through manual nor automatic means

Great app for anyone who uses winamp! Good functionality and amazingly useful for the price!

For now, the app keeps disconnecting from the server making it not function properly. VLC has mastered this technology and I am thinking that the developers of this app should re-think the function of a "root folder"and make it a "root drive" as well. A major overhaul is recommended to make this a good functional remote. I paid a dollar and will keep it on the hopes it improves to meet the needs of a better server to match todays remote capability. I almost lost my cool trying to keep it connected until I just put it down. Winamp is an excellent media player and so should a $.99 remote. Please make updates, thank you:)

Great app but there is no way to access our media library without making winamp stop working (crash). Plus, the playlist feature is badly implemebted with the new playlist sheme of winamp Dont buy until fix is made

Audio control from an iPhone or iPad its a good application

Works well compared with another free solution I tried. Some will spoil through a playlist without playing anything but this worked out of the box. Youll need the server and Winamp plugin, which are free.

Finally, a Winamp remote that is -almost- there! Have tried all of the others and this is my preferred remote. Great, clean, user-friendly interface. Full playlist creation/edit control, with full media-library support. Doesnt have some bells and whistles, such as album art, but I can live without that. The app is only missing the following: -Auto-discovery is nice, but let the user manually input an IP address and port for the server!!!! The desktop software allows you to change the port, but this is useless without being able to manually enter a server address in the app itself. Include this, and you open the app up to being able to control Winamp over the Internet, and not just a local network. A MUST HAVE! -More of a preference, I would prefer the entire program to be a Winamp plugin, and not a separate task bar program. Who needs one more program on the task bar? However, as it is as task bar program, include the ability to launch Winamp if it is not running; no reason it cant. -Option to disable the computer shutdown and reboot options. Dont need friends turning off the computer while changing music. -Repeat button: should auto-detect Winamp v5.x, and give the option to select repeat 1 track, as well as none or repeat playlist. -Option to edit and drag to re-order the playlist. -And of course, a full-featured iPad version! Otherwise, thanks for a great app! hope some of these requests can be included!

The "root folder" requirement pretty much spoiled this one for me, as my media files are organized several different hard drives and a 99 cent app will not force me to do a major reorganization of my data. Guess it was my own fault that I purchased it before reading all of the installation instructions. A WinAmp remote app without support for the Media Library is pretty useless.

Totally worth the price. You can browse folders on your PC, dynamically add music to your playlists and best of all..it displays your current track with your entire playlist. Keyboard and mouse control. No equalizer control but meh.. For the price it does MORE than RemoteX and RemoteHD which are more expensive and dont even come close to this! Excellent customer support as well. Developer Boris responds immediately and is very helpful. He is also planning on adding more features by the end of this year!

I can now fully access my complete music library through my ipad while sitting on my couch. What a joy. Unfortunately, Wmote is so easy and intuitive my wife is now controlling my music via her iPad. Our taste in music is divergent but we come together with the Blues. Sometimes we do have dueling remote playlists. Actually great fun. This is a great one of a kind App! Thank you Boris!

Do I really need to control my playlist remotely when Im only a few feet away from my PC? What I really need this app to do is to work over 3G to fix any problem to my stream when Im away from home, right? Oh well...

I have a massive music collection that I can now access and control from my PC with the phone from anywhere in the house or in the backyard. Coupled with wireless speakers, the computer stays in the basement & we can enjoy music anywhere. Now if I could just figure out true "remote" access when away from home, I could finally enjoy my music collection on the go.

The instructions says that it self configured, but that isnt even close to true. I have the knowledge to go in and open the necessary ports, and then I could get it to work sometimes in what is called manual connection. But even them, you cant access features like Bookmarks in the Media Library or Shoutcast. Ironically, the remore mouse worked very well, but I wanted something that allowed me to use Winamp when Im not sitting close enough to see the screen. After about two hours of frustration I left it alone, but when I tried it again, days later, Wmote could see the server but couldnt connect. After about 10 minutes of trying to figure it out, I decided it wasnt worth the effort, and uninstalled everything. I left it in iTunes, and may go back after a few upgrades to see if its working now, but if you arent really computer adept, stay away from this app.

I just gotta say that this works slick, slick, slick. I can play all my networked music remotely. In fact, I can control Winamp on any of my computers. Only one suggestion for the developer. There needs to be an easy way to clear all songs from the home screen. I tried closing the app. Nope. All the files I added to the home screen are still there when I reopen the app. Needs to be one button like Clear All or something like that.

This app for the most part is worth the $0.99. It allows me to control winamp from anywhere in my house just like it says. In the next update the ability to use services like shoutcast that would normally work in winamp should be added.

I have plenty troubleshooting experience in the realm of home networking. Having had and resolved issues with getting multiple game consoles online, network media centers and having them all play nicely can be a headache. All that experience amounted to nothing, since I cant get this app to work. Tried having the app connect to my PCs IP address directly and opened the needed port in my router with no success. I can only get as far as: "Connection Error. No WmoteServer program found! Please check Your WiFi and make sure that You have server program installed and runing on Your PC!" ------ EDIT: I just got MonkeyMote Lite (FREE), and I got it to work within 30 seconds of installing the server and the app.

This would be nice if I could use it. Went thru all the motions just to get an error message. Good thing it was only .99
